The Villages Tech Expo is 10/19 at Colony Rec. Center from 10 am to 3 pm.  We have been invited to be an exhibitor.  Tampa Gem and Mineral Society Show is at the Plant City  Strawberry Festival Grounds 10/19 & 20.

Our Club Show coordinator, Christine Courtwright reported that our 2nd Annual Show will be Jan. 26, 2014 in the Theater room at Sea Breeze rec. Center.  Set-up will be from 9 to 10 am.  The show runs from 10 am to 3 pm.  We need to have everything cleaned-up by 4:30 pm on that day.

Chris also reported that our Christmas/Hanukah Party would be Dec. 5th.  Everybody is to bring a dish to share and a $10 gift per person for our gift exchange.

New Business:

Tom proposed a couple of ideas to remedy the fact that we need more storage room.  He found out that we could get availability of the craft room on Monday and Friday evenings.  There was a discussion on having equipment savvy people at the additional meeting night.  Tom asked if there is interest in having a second meeting night.  Tom put it to the floor for a show of hands if you object to a second meeting time.  There were not enough objections to matter.  Tom said he would apply for a second meeting day.

Tom then asked for a volunteer to head the nominating committee for new officers.  Bill Collins volunteered to head the committee.

Tom also proposed that the club dues for people new to the club in the months of Oct., Nov., and Dec., not have to pay the pro-rated amount for the last three months of the year but rather they would pay the full membership amount which would include the coming new year.

A motion was made that new people would pay $15 now and it would include the remaining months of 2013 and all of 2014.  The motion carried.

Tom said he would request storage space in the kiln room.

Michael said he would donate a tumbler that Mary Ellen said we need for the Jewelry makers SIG.  We would just need to buy stainless steel shot.

Webmaster, Judy Mitchell

That her position as web master is not an elected position but if there is anyone who would like to serve the club as web master she would be happy to step aside.

Judy reminded everybody about resources on our website.

Mary Ellen announced that the G & LW wholesale show would be in Kissimmee 10/24-26.

Tom highlighted info items he had on the front table.  He also reminded everybody to buy tickets for the Chinese auction.  Tickets are $1 each.

Old Business:

Ed Mrak made an announcement about club name badges.  They are $10 each.

The meeting was adjourned and we had our Chinese auction and show & tell.
