That same weekend the S.E. Federation is having their annual meeting in Tampa.

October 13th & 14th there will be a Fossil Fair at the Central Florida Fair Grounds in Orlando.  Tom is going on Sunday the 14th in anyone wants to go.

Christine Courtwright reported on the Feb 7th 2013 club show we will have.  We can have the room from 5:00 pm (to set-up) to 9:00 pm.  We will advertise the show as being from 6:00 to 8:30 pm.  We will rent the tables for $15.00 each to members, and $20.00 each to non-members.  We will have demos and a membership table.  We will also have refreshments.

Old Business:

A discussion ensued concerning the monies donated for a rolling mill.  The question was asked if the club even wants a rolling mill.  A show of hands indicated that the club does want a rolling mill.

New Business:

The Officer Nomination Committee needs to begin the process.  Christine Courtwright agreed to head the committee.  All of the currant officers are willing to serve another year.  Election of officers will be next month at our November business meeting.

Tom suggested that our December 6th meeting be a Christmas Party.

Christine reminded everybody about  We have an account set-up with as “The Villages Gem & Mineral Society.”  The list of web stores that will donate a portion of your purchase to non-profit organizations and clubs is massive.  Stores like Apple, Staples, LL Bean, Lands End and such will donate a percentage of your purchase.  The prices are not inflated – there is no gimmick!!  They send a check directly to the club treasurer.

Tom adjourned the meeting at 7:45 pm and the Chinese auction followed.
