Old Business:

Tom reported that the Mid Florida Gem & Mineral Club would try to make it another year.  No equipment available at this time.

Judy is still trying to find education options for us.  One of the sources she found is “Metal Werx” up in Massachusetts.  They offer classes on a regular basis. is a website with fold forming instructions for free.  The Ganoskin Project also offers much information. offers free video lessons on-line.

A discussion ensued concerning SIG leaders that cannot make it to a meeting.  The leaders should notify their group if they are not going to be at a meeting.  Christine will loan Bill the SIG guidelines she has for her Genealogy Club so he can develop guidelines for our SIG groups.

We discussed the insurance policy and what it really covers.  It does not cover anything medical – it is a liability policy.

Christine suggested that we have our club fundraising show in the spring rather than the fall.  We talked about different kinds of shows we could have.  It seems as though we should start with a show in our meeting room during our regular meeting time.  That way it does not cost us anything.  We need to find out who in the club would be interested in participating.New Business:

We discussed not having an August business meeting because the President and Vice President will be out of town.  Dave Barrows moved that we not have a business meeting in August.  Judy Mitchell seconded and the motion carried unanimously.

Tom got info from his tax accountant on how to acquire “non-profit status.”  It would cost $500-$600 to have a lawyer file the paperwork.

There were no announcements.

Tom adjourned the meeting at 7:55 pm and then he gave a demo on various tools to help in identifying stones.
