Events Co-coordinator, Chris Courtwright reported that we have 41 vendor tables sold for our upcoming club show.  Each vendor is to donate an item for the club to raffle.  There will be items raffled every hour.  Dick will run the raffle.

The night before the show we will cleanup our equipment to put out for display.

On the 26th of January, set-up will begin at 8:45 am.

The show will be advertised in the Recreation news.  Chris asked that all vendors that have not paid for their tables please pay tonight.

Old Business

Susan McCauley and Rhonda West reported on our logo and shirts.  We have sample shirts tonight and we are prepared to take orders so we will have logoed shirts for our club show.

Club members expressed thanks for getting the logo project going.

Michael proposed that we have a club card printed for handout at the club show.  Michael also told us about a new program we will be instituting on equipment safety.  Ed Mrak is our Safety Officer.  We will have formal training on all of the equipment.  Users will have to be qualified on each piece of equipment before they can use it.

Web Master, Jim Courtwright

Jim reported on the new website he has been working on for our club.

The club expressed thanks to Judy Mitchell for her initial creation of our website.

Jim projected the new website up onto a video screen so everyone could see it.

A motion was made that we buy the domain name “The Villages Gem and Mineral Society.”

The motion was seconded and carried unanimously.

Jim Courtwright will secure our domain name.

Michael McCauley, Tom Mitchell, and Rick Brooks will be the website committee and will make decisions on behalf of the club.

Susan McCauley announced that the club sent Mary Ellen Lanigan flowers when she was in the hospital.

A motion was made for the money to come out of the club fund rather than take up a collection.

The motion was seconded and carried.

The meeting was concluded and we had our monthly Chinese auction.
