Meeting Date: Apr 2011

A regular business meeting of The Villages Gem and Mineral Society was held at Sea Breeze Recreation Center on April 7, 2011.  The meeting convened at 7:00 pm. President Joe Comer presiding.

Minutes of the March meeting were read and approved.

Officers Reports:

Vice President, Tom Mitchell, re-iterated the need for fossil permits in Florida.  He also made available the William Holland School of Lapidary and Jewelry Arts class schedule for April through October.  Reservations would need to be made immediately as they fill-up quickly.  The school is located in Young Harris, GA.

Treasurer, Richard Goodspeed reported:

Income & deposits        293.13
Expenses                       163.10
End of Feb. BAL.     $ 338.15
Cash from Thurs.          95.60 (includes income from badges)
Balance to date          $ 393.75

Program Committee:

Dr. Gail Gibson was introduced and gave a wonderful presentation on “How Certain Unusual Minerals are formed.”
